The European Medicines Verification Organisation (EMVO) has launched its renewed website in September. Thanks to the updated design and improved navigation features, the platform is now more user-friendly, helping visitors find the necessary information, documents, and the latest industry updates more quickly and efficiently.
The new website makes it easier to find information about EMVO, its services, resources, and news. It also offers useful guidance for pharmaceutical manufacturers whose products are subject to the Falsified Medicines Directive and medicines verification requirements, including information on how to connect to the European Hub (EU Hub).
The updated website also features a tool for EMVS users, allowing them to perform five basic tests to identify potential issues with DataMatrix code scanning, thereby helping to reduce technically caused alerts.
Both pharmaceutical manufacturers and end users of national medicines verification systems can subscribe, via the EMVO tool EVI, to regular updates on EU Hub and national system availability, as well as planned system maintenance downtime.
All new pharmaceutical manufacturers whose products are subject to medicines verification requirements are strongly advised to review the EMVS Master Data Guide and the Questions and Answers document. Correct product data entry significantly reduces errors before a medicine reaches pharmacies or healthcare institutions.
Through the EMVO website, manufacturers can also find contact details for all National Medicines Verification Organisations (NMVO). In addition to the mandatory participation agreement with EMVO, each Marketing Authorisation Holder (MAH) must also conclude a cooperation agreement with the NMVO of the country where their products are distributed and pay an annual fee. EMVO has collected information from all NMVOs, providing an overview of both one-time and annual fees for each.
EMVO notes that the new website was developed with a strong focus on user experience, offering a modern and transparent layout. The platform will continue to be enhanced in the coming months with new features and interactive solutions designed to make access to information even easier.
