LZVO seminar informs IT providers about current developments

On Monday, 13 April, the Latvian Medicines Verification Organisation (LZVO) held an online seminar during which IT providers – companies that ensure end-user access to the Latvian medicines verification system (LZVS) – were informed about the most important current developments.

Several topics were covered during the seminar; however, the main focus was on replacing the existing LZVS connection addresses with new ones and transitioning the digital infrastructure from servers located in Arvato Systems GmbH data centres to the “Oracle EU Sovereign Cloud” (OSC) platform. LZVO IT Manager Rihards Plivčs introduced participants to the key benefits of OSC, provided a detailed explanation of the transition phases, and demonstrated the process of changing connection addresses via video.

Rihards Plivčs emphasized: “We encourage IT providers who ensure connections for LZVS end users to begin transitioning to the new connection addresses as soon as possible, thereby enabling faster processing of verification requests and improving overall system performance.”

LZVO calls on IT providers to complete the transition to the new connection addresses for LZVS end users as soon as possible, but no later than the end of 2026.

IT providers were also informed about LZVS development plans, release schedules, as well as planned changes and data deletion/archiving processes.

During the seminar, IT providers were informed that LZVO’s website allows convenient monitoring of the availability of LZVS and other national medicines verification systems: NMVS availability - LZVO. They were also reminded of the communication procedures with LZVO and the system developer Arvato Systems GmbH in case of system unavailability or disruptions.

For issues related to password and certificate renewal, system availability, or other technical matters, LZVO invites IT providers to contact support on working days during business hours via email at helpdesk@lzvo.lv or by phone at +371 29367267.

LZVO expresses its gratitude to all participants for their time and engagement and sincerely hopes that the successful cooperation will continue in the future.
