Development and qualification of the new LZVS version 6.0 has been completed

LZVO are pleased to inform you about upcoming delivery of version 6.0 for the Latvian Medicines Verification System (LZVS). The development of the new version 6.0 of the LZVS was started in April last year. In accordance with the project plan, the IT supplier Arvato systems GmbH started the qualification of the system in September 2024. After extensive joint user acceptance tests (jUAT) and interoperability tests (IOT), the LZVS qualification was successfully completed in March 2025. The updated release 6.0, which was already installed in the test environment on April 8, will be installed in the production environment on May 5 this year.

The new release does not foresee any functional changes for end users. The interface version v5 will still be available for end user connections. The new system version is intended to close the previous version of the LZVS portal (WebGUI or graphical interface), as the new interface version has proven its performance over a longer period of time. The updated release will include missing functionalities in the new GUI and close functionalities that were not used until now.

Release 6.0 also includes a technological update of the PKI portal. The PKI portal is used to download a security certificate that provides access to the LZVS. By updating the PKI technological base and graphical interface, the certificate download functionality will become easier to use. The use of data encryption algorithms that are in line with modern standards will also be ensured.

Release 6.0 introduces technical changes that include the modernization of system’s infrastructure, security updates, as well as the elimination of previously detected lower-level defects in order to continue providing stable operation of verifications system.
