The European Medicines Verification Organisation (EMVO) has launched a newsletter, which looks back on the past four years of the verification system’s operation, informs about the launch of the European Alert Management System (EAMS) and provides an opportunity to look into the first European Medicines Verification System’s (EMVS) forum, which was also attended by the Latvian Medicines Verification Organisation (LZVO) representatives Inese Erdmane and Andra Pučko.
On 9 February, the EMVS celebrated their 4-year anniversary with a reception at the Royal Library of Belgium. During the reception, EMVO’s President, Kasper Ernest shared his overall takeaways for this 4th-year anniversary with an enthusiastic crowd.
In the newsletter, Leonie Clarke, the Chief Executive of the Irish Medicines Verification Organisation (IMVO) and the Chair of the EAMS Steering Committee, shared some of the main benefits and functionalities of the system, such as management, traceability, and documentation of the alerts, accelerated communication between involved parties regarding the alerts.
The 1st Annual EMVS Forum, chaired by MEP Marisa Matias, took place on 10 February at the European Parliament. During the meeting, EMVO Stakeholders and guests came together to discuss the EMVS’ main purpose – keeping patients safe by ensuring a protected medicines supply chain in Europe.
