A new board member Daina Dzirkale, who is representing manufacturers of innovative medicinal products (Association of International Innovative Pharmaceuticals Producers) and manufacturers of generic medicinal products (Latvian Generic Medicines Association), has been appointed on the board of Latvian Medicines Verification Organisation (LZVO) since 17 December 2019. D. Dzirkale is the External Affairs Director of SIA GlaxoSmithKline Latvia.
The Executive Director of LZVO Inese Erdmane continues her work on the board, as well as Mārcis Rutulis, who is representing the distributors of parallel imported medicinal products (Latvian Parallel Medicines Import Association), medicinal product wholesalers (Latvian Association of Pharmaceutical Wholesalers), and pharmacies (Association of Pharmacy Owners).
D. Dzirkale will replace Santa Bičvkoviča-Vavžika on the board, who is leaving the board due to the change of employer.
LZVO is thankful to Santa Bičvkoviča-Vavžika for the great contribution to the development of medicines verification system in Latvia. It is not easy to build a new comprehensive system operating in the entire Europe and inspecting millions of medicinal product packages from scratch. We succeeded in doing that together and Santa deserves considerable credit for that thanks to her extensive knowledge, structured way of thinking and openness to the search of new solutions
Inese Erdmane, the Chairman of the Board of LZVO
