All medicines, that are legally purchased or donated and sent in an appropriate way to support the people of Ukraine, are verified for their authenticity in Latvian medicines verification system. As in the case of the Latvian domestic market, all prescription medicine and one over-the-counter product – omeprazole – are checked and verified.
In the Latvian domestic market, all Covid-19 medicines and vaccines are subject to verification. In 2021, in total 26.2 million packages of prescription drugs and vaccines in Latvia have been verified and decommissioned.
