Latvian Medicines Verification Organisation (LZVO) sent a letter to the responsible persons of all medicines wholesalers licensed in Latvia (in accordance with the data of State Agency of Medicines of 27.03.2017), informing on the Falsified Medicines Directive and Delegated Regulation, coming into force thereof and applicability.
In the letter wholesalers were informed that in December 2016 LZVO was established and what are the purposes of it. In order to prepare for introduction of the Latvian Medicines Verification System (LMVS) in a timely manner, LZVO collects information about the wholesalers, to which the specific Directive and Regulation refer to. Wholesalers were invited to provide information regarding the fact, whether the certain wholesaler should have to be added to the LMVS, in writing by 5 May 2017. LZVO asked to specify contact persons to be further on contacted regarding the works on the implementation of the Directive and employees to be contacted regarding adding of the IT systems of wholesalers to the LMVS.
