The verification system in Latvia to prevent falsified medicines reaching patients has been fully operational for two years – a total of 22 million packages of medicines in Latvia have been checked by the system and delivered to the patients within 2020

The Latvian medicines verification system, which was established in Latvia to check the safety of medicines and prevent people from receiving or buying falsified medicines, has been fully operational for almost two years.

As the Emergency Situation in Latvija is extended until 7 February, Latvian Medicines Verification Organization (LZVO) will work in a mixed mode, both remotely and on-site.
