In the first quarter of 2024, a total of 29 million transactions were carried out in the Latvian Medicines Verification System (LZVS), which is a 16% increase compared to the same period in 2023. After the final verification, slightly more than 7.4 million medicine packages were supplied to citizens in Latvia, marking a 4% increase from the first quarter of 2023.

2023. gada beigās Somijas Zāļu verifikācijas organizācija (FiMVO) nomainīja zāļu verifikācijas sistēmas (FiMVS) piegādātāju. Piegādātājs tika nomainīts no Arvato uz Solidsoft Reply (SSR). Šī pārmaiņa bija pirmais šāda veida gadījums Eiropas Zāļu verifikācijas sistēmas (EMVS) ekosistēmā. Tā iezīmēja nozīmīgu brīdi FiMVO misijā nodrošināt farmaceitiskās piegādes ķēdes integritāti un drošību Somijā.

LZVO ir nosūtījusi atgādinājuma vēstuli visiem sistēmas gala lietotājiem par nepieciešamību līdz šā gada oktobrim pāriet uz interfeisa versiju v5. Neveicot šīs izmaiņas, gala lietotājiem vairs nebūs pieejas LZVS.

On May 23, at the European Medicines Verification Organisation’s (EMVO) General Assembly meeting, the NMVO Observers within EMVO’s Board for 2024 from the National Medicines Verification Organizations (NMVOs) were approved. Latvian Medicines Verification Organisation (LZVO) and its Chairwoman of the Board Inese Erdmane were re-elected as observers for the second consecutive year, representing the small countries group.

The Latvian Medicines Verification System (LZVS) was updated to release 4.0 on May 21. The system is fully functional, and all updated data is available.

The European Commission has published a new version of the Questions & Answers (Q&A) document on “Safety Features for Medicinal Products for Human Use (V.21)”.

In the event of a recall of a batch, withdrawal of a product from the market or a case of stolen packages, the marketing authorisation holder (MAH) should perform appropriate decommissioning transactions in the EMVS system for the affected markets, reminds the Latvian Medicines Verification Organization (LZVO).
