Latvian Medicines Verification Organization (LZVO) will work in a mixed mode from 9 November to 6 December

Updates to the Latvian Medicines Verification System (LMVS) prepared by the system developer Arvato Systems GmbH have been successfully installed and operational since 20 October.

Starting from October, a Quality Council was established in the Arvato group that includes 16 countries and a representative of the Latvian Medicines Verification Organization (LZVO) was elected in the Council.

It has been a year and a half since the Medicines Verification System became operational in Latvia. A new version of the European Commission’s Questions & Answers document on “Safety Features for Medicinal Products for Human Use (V.18)” is available from August 11.

For the first time, the Latvian Medicines Verification Organisation is participating in the testing of changes to the European level verification system, thus providing an opportunity to test the updates prepared by the developer of the system “Arvato Systems GmbH”.

The transition period in the relationship between the European Union (EU) and the United Kingdom is due to end on 31 December 2020. Henceforth, EU legal acts prohibiting or restricting import and export of active substances, medical devices, products of human origin will be applicable to the United Kingdom as to any other third country.
