We are now reaching out to our customers and partners with a new informative material – the LZVO Newsletter. From now on, we will offer the most important information on the activities of LZVO and the Latvian Medicines Verification System (LZVS) in a short and summarised form on a quarterly basis.

All medicines, that are legally purchased or donated and sent in an appropriate way to support the people of Ukraine, are verified for their authenticity in Latvian medicines verification system. In the Latvian domestic market, all Covid-19 medicines and vaccines are subject to verification.

European Commission (EC) has published a new version of the Questions & Answers document on “Safety Features for Medicinal Products for Human Use (V.19)”.

The European Commission has taken decision to extend the transitional period for a period of three years, which was determined in the context of the action of the medicine verification system regarding the medicine products exported to the United Kingdom* (UK) following its’ withdrew from the European Union.

In 2021 the Latvian Medicines Verification System has been operating stably, constantly ensuring the verification of medicines that are available to the Latvian population through legal supply chains, according to the annual report 2021 of the Latvian Medicines Verification Organization.
